WELCOME to our online book club!
The Whiteface Book Club was formed in 2003 and is comprised of 10 women. Our members range in age from the 20s through the 60s. Although we live in the Whiteface Mountain region, located in the Adirondack Park of New York State, not far from the Canadian border, many of us are originally from other areas of the country, as well as "North Country" natives.
We meet the last Wednesday of every month over dinner at one of our member's homes. It's pot luck, and everyone brings a dish and some wine. We try to theme the food around the book, if possible. Living in small, rural towns of the North Country, we don't have much access to exciting ethnic foods, so books that take place in other countries always ensure a delightful mix of international flavors.
Here on this website, you will find the name of the current book we are reading along with a list of the books we have read in the past. We will be announcing the names of new books for upcoming months as they are selected. We also provide a section for some of our favorite recipes from our meetings.
